We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiology Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. As a key member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients with complex cardiovascular conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with complex cardiovascular conditions, including pre and post PCI (Angioplasty), Coronary Artery Disease, Cardiac Catheterization, and Palliative Inotropes.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for patients, utilizing the Nursing Process and ongoing knowledge to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Identify and recognize abnormal or unexpected patient responses and take appropriate action to ensure patient safety.
- Manage multiple nursing interventions simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to ensure efficient and effective care delivery.
- Develop and maintain strong interprofessional relationships with healthcare team members, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices in cardiovascular nursing.
- Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current certification in BCLS.
- Recent knowledge and experience in cardiovascular nursing, including care of complex patient populations.
- Ability to use the Nursing Process and ongoing knowledge to arrive at individualized care planning and delivery.
- Strong interprofessional and communication skills.
- Central Venous Line Management certification.
- Certification or completion of Lead II Arrhythmia Interpretation Program.
- Certification or recent continuing education in cardiovascular nursing.
- Recent Cardioversion experience.
