Position Overview

The Team
Become a part of the Communicable Disease Prevention and Control (CDPC) Branch within the Ministry of Health, a proactive group committed to enhancing public health. Our diverse workforce, consisting of 22 full-time personnel along with secondees and contractors, is dedicated to the prevention and management of communicable diseases across the region. We focus on four primary domains: Immunization, Sexually Transmitted and Blood-Borne Infections, Infection Prevention and Control, and Policy & Strategic Partnerships. By fostering an inclusive and equitable environment, we ensure that every team member feels appreciated and empowered to share their unique insights towards our mission of mitigating the impact of infectious diseases and preparing for future health challenges.

The Role
In the capacity of an Administrative Support Specialist, you will be instrumental in facilitating our team's initiatives aimed at alleviating the impact of infectious diseases. Your duties will encompass providing administrative and clerical assistance, managing communications, coordinating meetings, and overseeing records management. This role is well-suited for individuals with a service-oriented mindset who are eager to enhance public health and promote the wellbeing of the community. By joining our team, you will support a group of dedicated professionals focused on making a significant difference in community health.

Qualifications:
  • Completion of Secondary School (Dogwood, GED) along with 6 months of relevant experience; OR
  • A minimum of one year of experience in an office environment OR successful completion of an Office Administration certificate and/or program.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Related experience includes:
  • Experience in an office environment.
Preference may be given to candidates with:
  • Experience with ARCS/ORCS
  • Experience with CLIFF and/or eApprovals
  • Preference may also be extended to candidates who identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit).
