Airport Manager Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Airport Manager to join our team at the Kativik Regional Government. As the Airport Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient management of the Puvirnituk Airport.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the airport, including safety and serviceability of all facilities.
  • Implement and administer airport programs to operate in a safe and secure manner.
  • Conduct ongoing communications, consultative, and promotional activities of the airport.
  • Provide leadership and functional direction to assigned staff.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to airport operations.
  • Manage the airport emergency response plan and liaise with responding agencies and tenants.
  • Work with the Coordinator Regulatory Process to maintain the Safety Management System.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the airport and review invoices for payment approval.
  • Work within the requisition system to complete purchasing requisitions and provide follow-up as required.
  • Identify training needs and assist in the development of training plans and materials.
  • Work within the Travel Management System for all travel requirements for assigned staff.
  • Review timesheets for accuracy prior to sending them to payroll.
Requirements:
  • University degree or post-secondary diploma in a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in an airport-related field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of employee supervision will be considered an asset.
  • Experience with project management and report preparation, preferably in the transportation industry is an asset.
  • Knowledge of airport Safety Management System.
  • Proven abilities in planning, organizing, and problem-solving with quality decision-making skills.
  • Good communication and writing skills in at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, English or French.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Work experience in a multicultural environment, preferably in Aboriginal communities, is considered an asset.

We offer a competitive salary range of $90,231 to $124,068 per year, as well as additional benefits including a cost of living differential, food allowance, annual leave trips, and RRSP contributions.
