Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Library Technician II to join our team at Parkland School Division. As a key member of our learning community, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational goals of our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the library, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for students and staff.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to promote literacy, research skills, and a love of reading among students.
  • Develop and maintain a diverse collection of books, resources, and materials to support curriculum needs.
  • Provide instruction and support to students on the use of library resources and technology.
  • Supervise students in the library and other learning spaces, ensuring a safe and secure environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents to promote the library's services and resources.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma and Information and Library Technology Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of related experience, preferably in a school library setting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility, patience, and a sense of humor.
Working Conditions

The Library Technician II will work indoors, with occasional outdoor supervision of students. The position requires a 35-hour workweek, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM. Pay rate is $23.40-$26.35/hour (Pay Group 3). The scheduled hours to be worked will be determined by each specific position.
