Caretaker II Position

About the Job

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Caretaker II to join our team at Parkland School Division. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our schools, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain classrooms, hallways, and other areas of the school
  • Empty trash, replace liners, and wash containers as needed
  • Dust and polish floors, walls, and other surfaces
  • Operate various cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, scrubbers, and polishers
  • Perform seasonal cleaning tasks, such as cleaning out lockers and windows
  • Assist with snow removal and other outdoor tasks as needed
  • Report any maintenance or repair issues to the Head Caretaker or Supervisor of Environmental Services
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • WHMIS Certificate an asset
  • First Aid/CPR Certificate an asset
  • Building Service Work Certificate an asset
  • 1-2 years of related experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform medium physical work
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, 40 hours/week, with a split shift schedule. The successful candidate will be required to work during the day on all non-instructional days, including PD days, Fall Break, Christmas Break, Spring Break, and Summer Break.

The hourly rate for this position is $24.15, plus an additional $0.75/hr for every split shift worked.
