Library Technician II

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Library Technician II to join our team at Parkland School Division. As a key member of our Learning Commons team, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational goals of our students and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the day-to-day operations of the library, including circulation, ordering, and collection of materials and resources.
- Work collaboratively with staff to promote a love of reading, grow communication skills, and resource the library with books and other learning materials.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for students and staff, applying de-escalation strategies and nonviolent crisis intervention techniques as needed.
- Provide support, assistance, and supervision to students in a school setting, including supervising small groups on field trips and in the learning commons.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents, using technology to record evidence of learning and share with stakeholders.
- High School Diploma and Information and Library Technology Diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of related experience, with a strong background in working with children in a school environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced, noisy environment with many interruptions throughout the day.
Hours of Work: 35 hours/week, Monday to Friday 8 AM to 4 PM. Pay Rate: $23.40-$26.35/hour (Pay Group 3). Library Technicians work indoors except when supervising children outdoors or going on field trips as needed.
