Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist I is a key member of the healthcare team, responsible for providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and educational respiratory health services to patients in various settings within Red Deer Regional Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients and develop respiratory therapy care plans
  • Implement and monitor respiratory therapy interventions
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to enhance clinical outcomes
  • Provide training and education to healthcare providers and patients
Requirements
  • Active registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA)
  • Graduation from a recognized school of Respiratory Therapy
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist in good standing with CARTA
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) and NRP
  • Minimum one-year acute care experience in ICU, ED, NICU, wards
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications
  • ACLS certification
  • Experience with computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Laboratory Specimen ordering
