Baker Tilly Canada Cooperative is on the lookout for a dedicated Senior Tax Consultant to enhance our dynamic team.

Our firm, comprised of six partners and located in various regions, employs over 70 professionals who support businesses at every stage of their development, from emerging and owner-managed enterprises to large private corporations, not-for-profit organizations, and individuals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review intricate Canadian individual and corporate tax returns along with other tax-related assignments prepared by staff.
  • Evaluate and endorse technical research and tax planning recommendations for private entities.
  • Provide superior tax planning, services, and advice.
  • Collaborate closely with Tax Partners and senior staff on business tax compliance, tax provisions, and advisory projects.
  • Establish and nurture client relationships at a senior level during core hours and identify opportunities for enhanced client service.
Qualifications:
  • Canadian Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course or Master of Tax Program.
  • 7+ years of public accounting experience with a specialization in tax.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Canadian tax issues and GAAP requirements for tax provisions.
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), Caseware/Caseview, TaxPrep, and tax research software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, interpersonal skills, and verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deliverables effectively.
  • A genuine passion for tax work.
