Join Our Team as a Lead Tax Consultant

Baker Tilly Canada Cooperative is looking for a Lead Tax Consultant to become part of our expanding team. This position offers a remote work opportunity that allows you to collaborate with a group of dedicated professionals who are committed to delivering outstanding client service and achieving success.

Our team consists of over 70 professionals, serving a diverse range of clients from emerging businesses to large private companies, not-for-profit organizations, and individuals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and completion of intricate tax returns.
  • Review of various personal tax returns and straightforward corporate tax returns.
  • Management of tax-related activities in conjunction with non-tax files.
  • Collaboration with Tax Partners and senior tax staff to develop and implement tax planning services, including research and preparation of memoranda.
  • Execution of special tax engagements.
  • Engagement with peers and senior management on file planning and timely completion.
  • Preparation and delivery of technical training sessions for firm staff.
  • Commitment to enroll and complete the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course and/or Master of Taxation Course.
Qualifications:
  • Approximately 3 to 5 years of accounting experience, with tax experience being an asset.
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), Caseware/Caseview, TaxPrep, and tax research software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
  • A genuine passion for tax work.
