Job Summary

ParaMed is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Worker to join our team in providing high-quality care to our clients in their homes. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting our clients with their daily living needs, promoting their independence, and enhancing their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Prepare and serve meals, and assist with feeding
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, and provide support with walking and balance
  • Provide companionship and social interaction to clients
  • Assist with light housekeeping and laundry
  • Monitor and report any changes in client's condition to the supervisor

Requirements

  • Completed a Personal Support Worker (PSW) program or Home and Community Care (HCA) certification
  • Experience working in a long-term care or community home care setting, with exposure to dementia and palliative care
  • Knowledge and experience in care planning systems and documentation
  • Ability to communicate positively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Ability to provide care in accordance with legislation, job routines, and nursing care plans
