Position Overview:
This role is pivotal in orchestrating, executing, and evaluating internal audits across the Southern Region for The Salvation Army, aimed at identifying deficiencies in financial systems and potential fraudulent activities.

The responsibilities encompass scrutinizing financial records and reconciling accounts to ensure adherence to established accounting and bookkeeping policies and procedures of The Salvation Army. Additionally, the position involves compiling reports and offering insights to enhance accounting practices and methodologies.

The incumbent will also act as the TeamMate+ (Audit Software) Specialist, overseeing the daily functionality of the system and implementing enhancements to align with audit requirements as directed by the Chief Auditor.

Responsibilities include reviewing budgets and financial submissions from Divisional Headquarters, conducting audits for designated divisions, and preparing analytical reports for the Finance Territorial Council.

The role requires identifying and proposing solutions to rectify existing accounting challenges, as well as pinpointing vulnerabilities in internal controls related to accounting, banking, expenditures, receipting, and sales.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, coupled with a minimum of two years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or auditing. Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities will also be considered.

Licenses & Certifications:
A valid State Driver's License is required. Additionally, certifications such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA) are preferred. Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English is essential.

The position demands a consistent level of physical effort related to manual dexterity, reading, writing, and maintaining coordination, with the expectation of frequent travel throughout the Southern Region.

The work environment is typical of an office setting, with minimal physical discomforts associated with weather changes or environmental factors.
