What is the opportunity?

As a key member of the Wealth Management Services team at Royal Bank of Canada, you will work closely with Investment Advisors to provide expert consulting services to their clients, ensuring seamless integration with their tax and legal professionals. This collaborative approach enables RBC advisors to deliver comprehensive wealth management solutions, previously reserved for high-net-worth individuals.

The role requires travel within the region to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct client interviews, creating detailed summary letters to recap advice discussed during sessions.
  • Collaborate with advisors on client/prospect seminars, developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external estate planning professionals.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant legislation, policy, and risk management issues.
  • Identify new business and referral opportunities for RBC Financial Group.
  • Foster a cohesive working environment across RBC Financial Group to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities and results.
  • Work with advisors to identify suitable opportunities.
  • Coordinate actions resulting from client interviews (internal and external consultants).
  • Stay informed on the business unit's strategy and client offerings.

Requirements

  • Canadian Law Degree and bar admission in at least one Canadian province or territory.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience, with advanced knowledge of Canadian legislation, including wills, estate, and trust administration, as well as related tax rules and planning opportunities.
  • Good knowledge of various insurance products as estate planning tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of common law related to wills, estates, and trusts.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Estate and Trust experience.
  • Knowledge of Insurance Planning and Solutions.
  • STEP membership.
