About the Opportunity

The Rehabilitation Assistant plays a vital role in the patient care team, working collaboratively with individuals, care partners, and groups to promote movement, occupation, and function. This role involves the safe and proficient delivery of activities, interventions, and education assigned by therapists for patients/clients experiencing limitations in movement and daily function.

The successful applicant will be responsible for checking and cleaning equipment, maintaining treatment and storage areas, and ordering necessary supplies. They may also be required to provide services anywhere within the Rehabilitation Services portfolio.

About You

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual with a strong passion for patient care. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Graduation from a recognized Community College Rehabilitation Assistant program or a combined Occupational Therapy (OTA) and Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) College program.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) training or the ability to complete training within the first three months of employment.
  • Basic computer skills and experience working in a rehabilitation centre, preferably with geriatric populations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members, patients, and their care partners.
  • Knowledge of proper body mechanics and experience working with varied patient populations.
Hours

This is a long-assignment, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. Shifts include weekdays, scheduled weekends, and holidays.
