About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Therapeutic Assistant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our interdisciplinary treatment team, you will play a vital role in providing health, health promotion, and therapeutic services to our rehabilitation population.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Program Manager and Recreation Therapist to assist in the provision of services, communicate patient-specific information, and enhance the level of knowledge of the treatment team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A Grade XII diploma and a two-year certificate or diploma from a Recreation or Therapeutic Recreation Program
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current St. John Ambulance First Aid course preferred
  • Current certification in Non Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) is an asset
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Competencies in other languages preferred; French an asset

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the provision of health, health promotion, and therapeutic services to the rehabilitation population
  • Communicate patient-specific information to enhance the level of knowledge of the treatment team
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with the interdisciplinary treatment team
