About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Therapeutic Assistant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Therapeutic Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing health, health promotion, and therapeutic services to our rehabilitation population.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the provision of health, health promotion, and therapeutic services to the rehabilitation population.
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively with the interdisciplinary treatment team in carrying out the individual's treatment program.
- Communicate patient-specific information to enhance the level of knowledge of the treatment team.
Requirements
- Grade XII plus a two-year certificate or diploma from a Recreation or Therapeutic Recreation Program.
- Current CPR certification is required.
- Current St. John Ambulance First Aid course preferred.
- Current certification in Non Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) is an asset.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Competencies in other languages preferred; French an asset.
