About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Body Repairer, Motor Vehicles Specialist to join our team at Saunders Motors Co. Ltd. as a key member of our automotive repair team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and Maintain Workspace: Ensure a safe and organized work environment by cleaning and maintaining the workspace, including tools and equipment.
  • Instruct Apprentices: Provide guidance and training to apprentices in the art of body repair and restoration.
  • Repair and Replace Body Components: Use expertise to repair or replace front end components, body components, doors, and frame and underbody components.
  • Prepare Surfaces for Painting: Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
  • Hammer Out Dents and Defects: Use blocks and hammers to remove dents, buckles, and defects from body surfaces.
  • Remove and Replace Damaged Parts: Remove damaged fenders, panels, and grills, and bolt or weld replacement parts into place.
  • Repair or Replace Interior Components: Restore interior components to their original condition, including repairing or replacing damaged windows, windshields, and sunroofs.
  • Mix and Match Paint Colors: Use expertise to mix paint, blend, and match colors to achieve a perfect match.
  • Operate Soldering Equipment: Use soldering equipment or plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams.
  • Straighten Bent Frames: Use frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment to straighten bent frames.
Requirements
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, and kneel as required.
  • Personal Suitability: Demonstrate accurate, client-focused, and excellent oral communication skills, with a strong sense of initiative, judgement, reliability, and teamwork.
  • Experience: Possess at least 1 year of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of automotive body repair and restoration techniques.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent position, working 35 hours per week. The language of work is English.
