The Global Marketing Team is seeking a Temporary Marketing Account Manager focused on Rodeo & Agriculture to enhance our marketing efforts. This role involves crafting, executing, and assessing marketing strategies for Explore Edmonton's Community Initiatives portfolio, which encompasses various events and programs related to the rodeo and agriculture sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts from the Canadian Finals Rodeo, Farmfair International, and Edmonton Urban Farm, along with external marketing agencies, to create comprehensive marketing campaigns that utilize traditional, digital, social, and influencer marketing techniques.
- Formulate strategies that promote organizational collaboration and efficiency, adapting to shifting priorities within the marketing team.
- Act as an advocate for the strategic marketing objectives of the Rodeo & Agriculture account, both internally and externally.
- Establish and oversee the ongoing reporting of strategic marketing objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and evaluation metrics.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal teams and industry stakeholders.
- Manage the development of marketing projects and campaigns for the Rodeo & Agriculture portfolio, including significant campaign creation, media planning, video production, and website management.
- Comprehend the priorities of the Canadian Finals Rodeo, Farmfair International, and Edmonton Urban Farm teams, effectively communicating these to collaborators.
- Utilize the internal resources of the Global Marketing team, including social media, digital marketing, and content development, to execute various projects and campaigns.
- Source and manage external vendors and agencies as necessary.
- Oversee brand development and compliance for the Rodeo & Agriculture brands in collaboration with the Global Marketing Brand & Design team.
- Contribute to the upkeep and management of digital properties related to the Canadian Finals Rodeo, Farmfair International, and Edmonton Urban Farm, including social media channels and websites.
- Work with the Global Marketing Brand & Design team and external contractors to produce all branded materials, including event collateral and advertising.
- Manage financial responsibilities, including tracking expenditures, monthly forecasting, and invoice processing.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in business (marketing), communications, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in marketing and/or communications is preferred.
- Experience collaborating with a large internal marketing team is advantageous.
- Proven knowledge and experience in event marketing and revenue-generating strategies.
- Strong understanding and experience with traditional, digital, and social marketing practices.
- Experience in managing substantial campaign budgets across various platforms.
- Ability to handle major projects and competing priorities while working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Facebook Ads Manager, Google Ads, Google Analytics, email marketing, website management, and CRM software.
- Previous experience in the events industry, particularly in rodeo and agriculture, is considered an asset.
