Job Summary

FortisBC is seeking a highly skilled Relief System Operator to join our System Control Centre (SCC) Operating team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for relieving the System Operator and performing duties normally carried out by a lower classification employee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Learn and perform the duties of the System Operator.
  • Perform tasks typically assigned to a lower classification employee.
Requirements
  • NERC certification.
  • Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and handle stress, especially during emergencies.
  • Capable of dealing courteously with the public and working cooperatively with colleagues.
  • Potential to progress to higher classification in the Control Centre.
