Are you a recent graduate in nursing? Bruce County has been approved for the Community Commitment Program for Nurses (CCPN) funding.
Qualified candidates may be eligible for funding of up to $25,000.
Compensation & Benefits The hourly wage for this position is set at $35, in accordance with the ONA collective agreement. Additionally, part-time employees will receive 13% in lieu of benefits and 6% in lieu of vacation.The Part-Time Days/Evenings/Nights shift consists of scheduled shifts for Days (6AM-2PM), Evenings (2PM-10PM), or Nights (10PM-6AM). This role includes 9 shifts over a four-week period, which encompasses every other weekend.
Experience Recognition:
A nurse with relevant recent experience, who has been actively employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse or has Community Nursing experience within the last two (2) years prior to employment, will receive one (1) increment for every fifteen hundred (1,500) hours of related work experience.
Eligible hours worked will be credited as long as there is no break in active employment exceeding two (2) years.
If there is a break in active employment of two (2) years, only eligible hours prior to the break will be recognized.
Related work experience may include Long Term Care and/or hospital/acute care.Additional Benefits:

Winter Loan Program Qualifications -Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Basic computer skills and current CPR certification
- Bachelor's degree in nursing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- PIECES and/or CAPCE / palliative level two preferred
- Three to five years of experience as a licensed practical nurse, preferably in a long-term care environment
- Experience supervising other staff members.
- Familiarity with documentation related to MDS RAI and the use of PCC
- Proficient in the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate as a team member
- Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, adaptability, strong organizational skills, and supervisory abilities
- Comfortable and highly skilled in all documentation, including nursing care planning related to the MDS RAI process
- Resident/family-oriented, viewing oneself as an advocate for resident rights
- Strong leadership and crisis intervention skills
- Good physical and mental health
