We are seeking an experienced cross-platform Reporter/Editor to join our Vancouver newsroom. As a key member of our team, you will produce articles and stories focusing on British Columbian news for our French-speaking audiences on radio, television, and digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce high-quality articles and stories for our French-speaking audiences
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of British Columbian news and current events
  • Collaborate with our team to create engaging content for multiple platforms
  • Conduct interviews and gather information for stories
  • Write and edit articles, scripts, and other content
  • Meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Requirements:
  • University degree or equivalent
  • Three (3) years of directly related experience in the field
  • Proven ability to find stories and develop a strong news sense
  • Solid command of spoken and written French (language of work)
  • Excellent understanding of spoken and written English, and ease speaking the language
  • Knowledge and understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada's Journalistic Standards and Practices
  • Critical mind and strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Proven ability to work in a high-stress, tight-deadline environment
  • Solid knowledge of British Columbia, Canadian, and international news
  • Familiarity with issues affecting French-speaking minority communities, particularly in British Columbia
  • Availability to travel and work flexible hours, including on weekends
  • Valid Canadian driver's licence
  • Ability to pick up new technology quickly
  • Knowledge of newsroom production applications (iNews, Dalet, Scoop, and Avid) an asset
