Position - Senior User Experience Designer

Location - Quebec, Ontario

We are seeking a seasoned UX Designer to contribute to the Haven Entertainment Studios project team. The Senior UX Designer will collaborate closely with the Game Director to influence the design and development of innovative gaming experiences. This role involves crafting user experience standards, menu structures, and accessibility protocols that bring the creative vision to life. The designer will work within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of exceptional features that prioritize user needs.

Reporting Structure

The Senior UX Designer will report directly to the Production Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Game Director to define the game design vision and translate it into actionable features and tasks.
  • Establish the user experience framework for the game, focusing on user interfaces, navigation, accessibility, and social interactions.
  • Convert concepts into user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes throughout the production cycle to enhance player engagement.
  • Engage with a cross-functional team, serving as a key liaison to ensure alignment among team members and stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate design intentions through various means to ensure clarity and understanding across the team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a UX designer with at least one completed project in the field.
  • Strong grasp of UX/UI principles and methodologies.
  • Experience in integrating user data and metrics into design processes.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a UX designer on at least one project.
  • Familiarity with designing for live service games and understanding best practices in this area.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of UX, UI, accessibility, and social interaction systems.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools.
