Position - Senior User Experience Designer

Location - Quebec, Ontario

We are seeking a seasoned UX Designer to join the Haven Entertainment Studios project team. The Senior UX Designer will collaborate closely with the Game Director to influence the creation and development of the game design direction for upcoming generations of games. This role involves crafting user experience standards, menu flows, and accessibility guidelines that transform the vision into an engaging and playable experience. The designer will operate within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment to ensure the delivery of high-quality features that prioritize consumer needs.

Reporting Structure

The Senior UX Designer will report directly to the Production Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Game Director to define the game design direction and break it down into clear features, deliverables, and tasks.
  • Establish the user experience vision for the game, focusing on user interfaces, menu flows, accessibility, and social interactions.
  • Convert concepts into user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes throughout all production stages to create outstanding player experiences.
  • Engage in a cross-functional team and serve as a regular liaison within that team, as well as with management and other creative and technical leads to ensure cohesive work.
  • Effectively communicate design intentions through various means to ensure that gameplay objectives and tasks are understood by all team members.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Extensive experience as a UX designer with at least one shipped title in the field.
  • Strong grasp of UX/UI principles.
  • Experience in effectively integrating user data and metrics into design processes.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a UX designer on at least one title.
  • Experience designing for a live service game with a solid understanding of design best practices for games as a service.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects and dependencies of UX, UI, accessibility, and social systems.
  • Familiarity with Data Visualization tools.
