In alignment with Northern Health's vision for an integrated system of services, where individuals and their families receive comprehensive care in Primary Care Homes, the Primary Care Mental Health and Addictions (MHA) Specialist plays a crucial role within the interprofessional team. You will apply best practices to deliver competent, safe, and ethical care to individuals and their families in various settings, including physician offices, residences, educational institutions, and community environments.

Through thorough assessment and collaboration with each individual and their family, the Primary Care MHA Specialist will devise and execute a tailored care plan aimed at assisting individuals in navigating their mental health or addiction challenges.

The Primary Care MHA Specialist will deliver care in accordance with the established care plan and the personal objectives of the individual.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, Daytime - 08:30 to 16:30

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an Allied Health, Behavioral, or Social Science field relevant to the position, along with two (2) years of recent experience in a healthcare setting dealing with complex care clients facing mental health and/or addiction issues. Alternatively, equivalent related knowledge, skills, and experience may be considered.
  • A current valid driver's license.
