About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Cumin Kitchen. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen and ensuring that our high standards of quality and service are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution
    • Develop and implement menus that showcase our culinary expertise and meet the tastes and preferences of our customers.
    • Plan and execute menu items, including preparation, cooking, and presentation.
  • Kitchen Operations
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers.
    • Ensure that all kitchen equipment and facilities are properly maintained and cleaned.
  • Inventory Management
    • Manage inventory levels of food, supplies, and equipment to ensure that we have the necessary resources to meet customer demand.
    • Monitor and control costs associated with food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Staff Management
    • Recruit, train, and develop kitchen staff to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their duties effectively.
    • Provide coaching and feedback to staff to improve performance and address any issues or concerns.
  • Quality Control
    • Ensure that all food prepared and served meets our high standards of quality and presentation.
    • Monitor and address any food safety or quality control issues that may arise.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, customers, and suppliers.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
    • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Work Environment
    • Work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
    • Work in a team environment, with a focus on collaboration and communication.
