Position: Financial Operations Manager

Sector: Manufacturing

Compensation: $115-125,000 plus pension, benefits, and a supportive work environment

TalentSphere Staffing Solutions is representing a client in the custom mechanical design and fabrication industry who is in search of a seasoned Financial Operations Manager. This role will report directly to the CEO and COO, and the key responsibilities include:

  1. Leading a finance team of five, overseeing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions.
  2. Conducting monthly financial reporting and analysis.
  3. Preparing consolidated financial statements for five distinct entities.
  4. Calculating monthly covenant requirements.
  5. Compiling bank compliance documentation.
  6. Managing remittances for income and excise taxes.
  7. Overseeing weekly cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and monthly general ledger reporting.
  8. Supervising the Project Cost Accountant and addressing issues related to underperforming projects.
  9. Collaborating with stakeholders to prepare annual budgets and providing quarterly variance reports with justifications or solutions.
  10. Monitoring banking activities.
  11. Acting as the administrator for online banking systems, including payment processing for wires, EFTs, and cheque signing authority.
  12. Approving payments to vendors and creditors.
  13. Authorizing electronic funds transfers.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  1. A valid CPA designation is mandatory.
  2. A minimum of 7 years of relevant accounting experience.
  3. At least 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
  4. Experience in the manufacturing sector is highly desirable.
  5. Strong understanding of project accounting principles.
  6. Proficiency in Jonas Construction Software and advanced Excel skills are essential.
