Exciting Opportunities in Municipal Risk Management
This role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in Ontario, allowing you to balance remote work with meaningful in-person engagements.
The Municipal Road Management Specialist provides essential internal support to the risk management division and offers external services to assist our municipal clients in maintaining their road infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist municipal councils and staff in comprehending their road maintenance obligations as outlined in relevant legislation.
- Evaluate municipal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Ontario Regulation 239/02 Minimum Maintenance Standards.
- Design and conduct educational workshops on legislation and regulations affecting municipal roads, including training on recognized standards and best practices in road design, condition assessment, and maintenance techniques.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Several years of experience in a senior management role (Director level or equivalent) focused on municipal road operations.
- Expertise in road design principles and maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with the Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways and experience applying these regulations in municipal settings.
- Experience in drafting bylaws, policies, and standard operating procedures, along with presenting these documents to municipal councils.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- A valid driver's license in good standing.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- A client-focused approach with excellent relationship-building abilities.
