Job Summary

The Health Sciences Centre is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Educator - Surgical Processes Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our educational team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing educational programs for nursing staff and support staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement educational programs for nursing staff and support staff, including curriculum design, instructional materials, and evaluation methods.
  • Teach and facilitate learning activities, including workshops, seminars, and online courses.
  • Collaborate with program teams to ensure educational programs align with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including nursing staff, support staff, and program teams.
  • Conduct needs assessments and evaluations to ensure educational programs meet the needs of the organization.
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required.
  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of four years recent related nursing experience with demonstrated competency in a defined area of clinical nursing practice.
  • Previous experience in teaching, education, and program development and evaluation is preferred.
  • Registration with the College of Nurses of Manitoba (C.R.N.M.) required.
  • Active participation in professional associations, such as the Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM), is preferred.
  • Current CPR (Targeted Responder) certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in complex situations.
  • Evidence of knowledge of the principles of adult learning and teaching strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to function creatively and independently.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development.
  • Initiates and supports change.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Competency with word processing and presentation programs, required.
