About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Event Coordinator to join our team at Borgata Event Centre by Avani. As an Event Coordinator, you will be responsible for administering revenues and expenditures, promoting conference and meeting services or special events, and recruiting, hiring, and supervising staff and/or volunteers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management
    • Administer revenues and expenditures to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies.
  • Event Promotion
    • Promote conference and meeting services or special events to attract clients and increase revenue.
  • Human Resources
    • Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers to ensure effective event execution.
  • Budgeting and Planning
    • Prepare, present, and manage budgets to ensure successful event execution and financial stability.
  • Logistics and Operations
    • Determine requirements for hospitality services, signage, multi-media equipment, printing, and other technical services, and arrange for and manage contracts for these services.
    • Co-ordinate and monitor conference and meeting activities and attend to related details.
    • Co-ordinate set-ups, staging, seating, parking, communication systems, and other details for special events.
  • Program Development
    • Research and design special events programs to meet client needs and expectations.
    • Plan for social events and guest programs to enhance the overall event experience.
  • Reporting and Compliance
    • Identify human resources requirements to ensure effective event execution and compliance with company policies.
Requirements
  • Education
    • College/CEGEP degree or equivalent.
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in event coordination or a related field.
  • Language
    • English language proficiency.
  • Work Schedule
    • 30 hours per week.
