Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a dedicated Care Aide to enhance our team. This position involves providing essential support to clients, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Responsibilities of a Care Aide at Vancouver Coastal Health include:
Collaborating with Registered Nurses and interdisciplinary team members to facilitate effective client care. Implementing established care plans to deliver personal assistance, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and meal support. Responding promptly to client calls and alarms. Monitoring and documenting clients' progress, symptoms, and behavioral changes. Utilizing equipment such as specialty beds and wheelchairs to assist in client mobility and transfers, adhering to safety protocols. Ensuring a clean and safe environment for both clients and staff. Performing additional related tasks as required.About the Community
The area offers a unique blend of natural beauty and community spirit, providing a serene environment for both residents and healthcare professionals. The facility includes various services such as acute care, emergency services, and community support.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Completion of Grade 10 (including English 10). Successful graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or equivalent education and experience. Eligibility for registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.Skills & Competencies
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact with clients and colleagues respectfully and effectively. Physical capability to perform the duties of the role. Organizational skills to manage work efficiently. Proficiency in operating relevant equipment, including Patient Care Information Systems.Additional Information
Work hours and days off may vary based on operational needs. Successful candidates may need to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
