About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Public Health Nurse Specialist to join our team at Bella Coola General Hospital. As a key member of our Home Support team, you will play a vital role in providing public health, prevention, and health promotion services to enhance the optimal health, well-being, and safety of clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a full continuum of public health, prevention, and health promotion services to clients in a rural remote setting.
  • Develop and maintain community partnerships to provide health promotion, advocacy, counseling, education, assessment, referral, and intervention services.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to identify and prioritize wellness needs and develop effective solutions.
  • Utilize evidence-based nursing practice to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent disease.

Requirements

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Training in public health nursing or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid BC Driver's License for local area travel.
