As a Health Promoter, you will play a vital role in improving the well-being of our community by implementing evidence-based health promotion programs and initiatives. Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments of community health needs, analyzing data, research findings, and environmental factors.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive health promotion plans that align with Ontario Public Health standards and best practices.
- Leverage your expertise in population health promotion, determinants of health, and health equity to guide program design and implementation.
- Collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team within the Health Unit, contributing to a shared vision for community well-being.
- Facilitate community engagement and build partnerships to mobilize resources and address local health priorities.
- Stay current on emerging trends and best practices in health promotion by reviewing relevant resources and attending professional development opportunities.
- Apply effective communication strategies, including social marketing principles, to promote health awareness and encourage positive behavior change.
- Contribute to policy development and advocacy efforts that reflect the needs of our community and promote equitable access to health services.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual with a passion for public health. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A four-year university degree in Health Education, Health Promotion, or a related field.
- One to two years of experience working in a health promotion role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer software applications.
