You will interact with colleagues, patients, and families in a respectful and collaborative manner, upholding the principles of Family-Centred Care.
Key Responsibilities- Timely patient registration, processing, booking, and scheduling
- Interacting with colleagues, patients, and families in a respectful and collaborative manner
- Filing, telephone communications, faxing information, retrieving information, and handling mail
- Verifying patient information, completing billing sheets, and managing time effectively
- Setting priorities, communicating messages and information accurately, and working well in an interprofessional team
- Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
- Graduate from a recognized medical secretarial or medical office administration diploma program preferred
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, an asset
- Minimum of six (6) months related experience preferred
- Medical terminology certificate, preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer programs/technology
- Demonstrated accurate keyboarding and data entry skills
- Working knowledge of office equipment
- Demonstrated strong time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated excellent organization skills, strong communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize workloads
- Demonstrated initiative; self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision/direction
- Demonstrated high regard for quality, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others and in an interprofessional team
- Demonstrated flexibility to meet workload demands
- Excellent judgment and discretion in handling confidential and/or sensitive information
