About the Opportunity

The Booking & Registration Clerk will report to the Health Services Manager and contribute to the efficient operation of the clinical area. Key responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling patients for clinic visits and contacting them via phone or mail as required
  • Performing clerical and administrative duties following hospital policies and procedures
  • Maintaining confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information
About You

We're looking for a candidate with:

  • Grade XII plus one year related experience or graduation from a recognized secretarial / office administration / business program
  • Computer skills (MS Office, email and internet) with a minimum typing speed of 45wpm
  • Experience using STAR and PHS preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology specific to Cardiology an asset
  • Ability to function independently in a high-volume and highly pressurized ambulatory care setting
  • Demonstrated verbal communication, accuracy and speed skills
  • Coordination, organization and decision-making skills
  • Ability to learn and work quickly and be adaptable to change
  • Competencies in other languages preferred, French an asset
Hours
  • Permanent Part-time (50%) position; 35 hours biweekly
  • Rotating schedule, Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm or 8:00am - 4:00pm
  • Day shifts only
Compensation and Benefits

$22.89 - $24.89 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
