Program Objectives: This fellowship is designed to support pioneering applications of AI in the realms of natural sciences and engineering, fostering a collaborative community of interdisciplinary innovators.

Candidate Qualifications: Applicants are expected to exhibit notable expertise and potential within their area of research. The fellowship will not only fund innovative research but also provide essential training in AI and related computational methodologies to encourage novel applications of AI.

  • Strong alignment between the applicant, supervisor(s), and the institutional research environment.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must possess a PhD degree in a natural sciences or engineering discipline, which includes fields such as computer science and mathematics.

Research Collaboration: It is essential for applicants to secure a supervisor (and co-supervisor, if applicable) who holds a full-time budgetary tenure-stream appointment or a status-only appointment at the University of Toronto.
