The University of Toronto is excited to announce the latest opportunity for the Eric and Wendy Schmidt AI in Science Postdoctoral Fellowship, a prestigious initiative under Schmidt Sciences aimed at uniting exceptional scholars who have earned a PhD in the natural sciences or engineering. This fellowship is designed for those who aspire to engage in a research project that integrates artificial intelligence (AI) within their field.

This program will support innovative applications of AI in the realms of natural sciences and engineering, fostering a collaborative community of interdisciplinary pioneers.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Demonstrated academic excellence and leadership in your research area.
  • Strong potential for success in your chosen discipline.
  • Ability to establish a productive relationship with supervisors and the institutional research environment, particularly regarding the integration of AI methodologies.

Applicants must possess a PhD in a natural sciences or engineering discipline, which includes fields such as computer science and mathematics.

It is essential to secure a primary supervisor (and a co-supervisor if necessary) who holds a full-time budgetary tenure-stream appointment or a status-only appointment at the University of Toronto. If the primary supervisor lacks expertise in AI, a co-supervisor with relevant AI experience is mandatory.

Fellowship Value: $85,000 CDN per year for a duration of 2 years.
