Overview:
This course serves as an introduction to the principles of software development specifically tailored for web applications. It encompasses fundamental concepts that govern the creation of web-based programs, exploring various technological options and delving deeper into selected technologies.
Key topics include operational principles of the internet and web, static and dynamic client content, dynamically served content, multi-tiered architectures, web development methodologies, and web security considerations. Assignments will progressively challenge students with more intricate web-based programming tasks.
Qualifications Required:
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a closely related discipline. A strong understanding of the subject matter is essential, demonstrated through research involvement and/or substantial teaching experience. Evidence of teaching excellence is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
The role entails comprehensive management of a university-level credit course, which includes:
- Designing and delivering lectures;
- Preparing tutorials, assignments, assessments, and grading criteria;
- Maintaining an online course platform;
- Providing adequate support to students outside of class through office hours and online communication;
- Drafting contracts for teaching assistants and overseeing their work.
While there is considerable flexibility in course delivery, instructors are expected to adhere to the foundational content and style established by faculty members who typically lead the course.
