About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior GIS Manager to lead our provincial GIS team in Canada. As a key member of our Archaeology and GIS business, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and technical expertise to support a variety of GIS projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of 12+ GIS professionals, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure the delivery of high-quality projects.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide senior-level technical expertise to support GIS projects, including spatial analysis, model development, and data management.
  • Business Development: Participate in business development activities to support the growth of the GIS team and business, and strengthen client relationships.
  • Collaboration: Foster collaboration across the BC GIS team, as well as with other GIS teams nationally and continue to develop relationships with other WSP Business Lines and sectors.
  • Communication: Communicate company policies and mandates to the GIS team and oversee their application if necessary.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree or Advanced Diploma in Geography, GIS, Biology, Social Sciences, or a combination of demonstrated GIS, statistical analysis, experience, or quantitative ecology and post-secondary education.
  • Experience: 10 years of experience or the equivalent working in a consulting environment with a focus on GIS.
  • Skills: Commitment to technical excellence, strategic and business planning experience, adaptability, and flexibility to prioritize and manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change.
