Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Manager to oversee the construction of custom smart homes and passive homes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities for custom smart homes and passive homes, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and timelines.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate a team of construction personnel, fostering a productive and collaborative work environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of work performed to ensure it meets high-quality standards, adheres to design specifications, and complies with building codes and regulations.
  • Safety Management: Enforce and implement safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and compliant worksite. Conduct safety meetings and ensure adherence to local safety regulations.
  • Resource Management: Oversee the effective management and allocation of materials, tools, and equipment. Monitor inventory levels, place orders for additional supplies as needed, and ensure proper maintenance of resources.
  • Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on-site, providing updates on project progress, addressing any concerns, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any on-site issues or challenges related to work quality, safety, or project timelines.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed project records, including daily reports, change orders, and progress updates.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in residential construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or senior construction management role. Experience with smart home technologies and passive home construction is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong proficiency in managing construction projects, with comprehensive knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and sustainable building practices.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, manage multiple tasks effectively, and handle complex projects with attention to detail.
  • Safety Knowledge: In-depth understanding of safety regulations and best practices in construction.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, clients, and project stakeholders.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in construction management, safety, and sustainable building practices (e.g., OSHA, LEED) are preferred.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education or certifications in construction management, building science, or a related field is an asset.
