Asset Management Lead

The Infrastructure Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the physical assets and operational infrastructure within the forestry sector. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Planning, Hauling & Forest Protection, this position emphasizes a commitment to continuous enhancement and excellence in safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable timberland management.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership in Operations: Uphold high standards in asset management concerning safety, environmental impact, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Ensure that all logging operations infrastructure, including roads, bridges, culverts, and major crossings, are maintained to the highest standards.
- Support for Planning Activities: Assist operations with the planning and maintenance of roads, bridges, and culverts.
- Operational Planning Assistance: Collaborate with the Operations team on both short-term and long-term operational strategies, annual budgeting, contract management, and resolving operational challenges.
- Capital Expenditure Management: Plan and oversee annual capital expenditures effectively.
- Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with First Nations, government bodies, and industry stakeholders to enhance the company's standing in the community.
- Strategic Initiatives Development: Formulate and implement strategic initiatives for asset management.
- Educational Background: An Engineering Degree with a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in good standing is required.
- Forestry Credentials: A Forestry Diploma or Degree with RFT or RPF designation is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience: A minimum of 7 years in progressively responsible infrastructure management roles within the forestry industry.
- Driver's License: A valid Class 5 driver's license or equivalent is necessary.
- Project Execution: Proven track record in executing large-scale capital projects.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and lead teams and consultants in managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft applications, ROADENG, GIS, LIDAR, GPS, ARCMAP, and other relevant computer applications is advantageous.
- Budget Management: Experience in preparing and managing budgets to align with corporate objectives.
- Safety and Environmental Leadership: A strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship is essential.
