Position Overview

Brevitas Consulting Inc is seeking a dedicated Bookkeeper to manage financial transactions and maintain accurate records. This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma program lasting 1 to 2 years.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years in a similar role or equivalent experience.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a business-focused setting, primarily at the head office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calculate and prepare payroll cheques.
  • Maintain and balance various accounts using both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
  • Oversee general ledgers and prepare financial statements.
  • Post journal entries and prepare statistical, financial, and accounting reports.
  • Handle tax return preparations and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Prepare invoices, reports, memos, letters, and other necessary documentation.
Technical Skills

Proficiency in the following software is essential:

  • Accounting software
  • MS Excel
  • MS Outlook
  • MS PowerPoint
  • MS Word
  • QuickBooks
