Job Summary

This permanent full-time Physiotherapist II position is based in the Peace River Community Health Centre, in Peace River, AB. The successful candidate will work in a variety of clinical settings in a rural environment, providing coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services. The role involves supervision of students and team members, as well as making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge, and follow-up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide physiotherapy services to clients of all ages in a variety of clinical settings, including acute care, outpatients, and long-term care.
  • Supervise Therapy Assistants and provide leadership to other healthcare professionals.
  • Make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area.
  • Ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics, and AHS policy and guidelines.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitor care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience.
  • Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
