You will be involved in providing a range of physiotherapy services, including acute care, home care, outpatient services, and long-term care. This role allows for a significant degree of autonomy and case management, ensuring that you can make a real impact on patient care.
Role Overview:
As a Physiotherapist II, your primary responsibility will be to coordinate physiotherapy and allied health services effectively. You will supervise students and other team members as required, working both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary framework. Your expertise will guide day-to-day clinical decisions concerning patient assessments, interventions, discharges, and follow-ups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership and make informed decisions on complex cases.
- Ensure that physiotherapy practices adhere to evidence-based standards and comply with relevant legislation and professional guidelines.
- Oversee the daily operations of your assigned service area, monitoring care delivery and identifying service needs.
- Participate in program development and operational planning, representing your department in various committees.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to determine staffing needs and manage caseload priorities.
Support and Development:
Alberta Health Services is committed to the professional growth of its Physiotherapists. You will have access to a network of experienced clinicians across the province, facilitating knowledge sharing and support. As we implement our Provincial Electronic Medical Record system, you will also be able to exchange patient information in real-time, enhancing the quality of care provided.
Required Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution or a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy along with relevant experience. Active or eligible registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta is essential.
