About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Physiotherapist II to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Physiotherapist II, you will play a key role in providing coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision of students and team members as assigned.
  • Work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team providing leadership to other healthcare professionals.
  • Make day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up.
  • Make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care.
  • Ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitor care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff.
  • Participate in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs.
  • Make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers.

Requirements
  • Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience.
  • Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
