About the Role:
Under the guidance of the Executive Director of the Learning Forum and the Principal of the associated schools, you will engage with existing educational programs and initiatives. Your role will encompass:
- Supporting students with diverse learning needs, fostering effective learning strategies to enhance academic achievement.
- Conducting professional development workshops for educators, focusing on effective teaching practices and social-emotional learning.
- Collaborating with faculty to implement a variety of instructional strategies that cater to the unique learning requirements of all students.
- Demonstrating and co-teaching to facilitate the application of differentiated learning strategies.
- Tracking the academic progress of students with learning challenges and maintaining comprehensive records of student interactions and communications.
- Assisting in the formulation and dissemination of Learning Support Plans based on psycho-educational evaluations.
- Participating in discussions regarding student progress and academic issues, aiding in transitions between educational levels.
- Regularly communicating with all stakeholders, including classroom teachers, other specialists, and families regarding student needs.
- Providing targeted learning skills workshops for students on topics such as study techniques and classroom strategies.
- Staying informed about the latest research and methodologies in effective teaching and learning across various subjects.
- Establishing partnerships with educational institutions for research and the advancement of teacher professional development.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
We seek individuals who embody our core values of integrity, discernment, respect, and engagement. The preferred qualifications include:
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English, with the capability to instruct in both languages.
- Certified educator (OCT or equivalent) with a Master's degree in education.
- Additional qualifications in Special Education are essential.
- Training in Literacy and/or Numeracy instruction.
- Background in psychology and/or psychoeducation.
- Experience in teaching strategies that address both social-emotional and academic needs.
- Relevant classroom experience with young learners facing identified learning challenges.
- Comprehensive understanding of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in both French and English.
- Knowledge of current educational research on best practices and differentiated instruction.
- Excellent adaptability to diverse educational environments.
