Our diverse range of services includes support for Aphasia and Communication Disabilities, Brain Injury, After Stroke recovery, Attendant Care Services, and various Rehabilitation and Integration programs. Our Employment Services division serves approximately 12,000 clients each year, providing essential assessments and rehabilitation services tailored to the unique needs of individuals with disabilities.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking skilled vocational evaluators and rehabilitation assessors to perform psycho-vocational assessments for individuals who have experienced injuries. This role is crucial in helping clients identify their work capacity and plan their rehabilitation effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer psychometric evaluations and conduct interviews with clients.
  • Independently carry out vocational assessments.
  • Collaborate with our in-house psychologist or a preferred psychologist to conduct psycho-vocational assessments, focusing on identifying alternative career paths while considering physical limitations, abilities, interests, educational background, and transferable skills.

Reporting Duties

Prepare comprehensive assessment reports that summarize testing results and interview insights. This includes generating a list of suitable job options based on assessment outcomes and determining the necessary training levels for clients. Utilize resources such as the National Occupational Classification, Job Bank, and The Career Handbook to inform your recommendations, incorporating labor market research to provide relevant occupational options.

Travel Requirements

Regional travel for in-person assessments at designated offices is a necessary aspect of this role.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a post-secondary education program in Psychology, Vocational Rehabilitation, or a related field.
  • Preferred certifications include Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Professional (CVRP), Canadian Certified Rehabilitation Counsellor (CCRC), Canadian Certified Vocational Evaluator (CCVE), Certified Vocational Evaluator (CVE), or Registered Rehabilitation Professional (RRP) with a minimum of five years of experience in vocational evaluation or rehabilitation.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong ability to engage with clients.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the diverse needs of clients.
  • Proficient in computer skills and familiar with various software applications.
  • Possession of professional liability insurance.
  • Ability to maintain a secure and organized home office environment.
  • Access to reliable transportation is essential.
