Position Overview

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is seeking a dedicated, full-time Evaluation Consultant to support various evaluation initiatives. This role is pivotal in leading and managing complex evaluation projects within the Knowledge Mobilization portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work autonomously while also collaborating effectively with a diverse team. The Evaluation Consultant will uphold values of respect, ethics, and cultural responsiveness in all evaluation practices.

Key Responsibilities

The Evaluation Consultant will:

  • Collaborate closely with the Knowledge Mobilization Strategy and Evaluation Manager to provide expert guidance on diverse evaluation projects.
  • Facilitate complex evaluation-focused collaborations across the organization and with external partners.
  • Utilize professional expertise to apply suitable analytical models and methodologies to evaluation inquiries and program requirements.
  • Develop or modify research and evaluation tools, such as surveys and interview guides, based on industry best practices.
  • Ensure quality assurance in processes, data analysis, and visualization.
  • Work alongside project leads to synthesize evaluation needs and assist in developing project scopes, timelines, and business cases.
  • Communicate intricate information to varied audiences, including senior leadership and community partners.
  • Monitor project progress, proactively identifying and addressing potential challenges in consultation with management.
  • Support the development and completion of project reporting and deliverables in accordance with relevant standards.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings with stakeholders to develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare evaluation materials for diverse audiences, including reports and presentations.
  • Foster relationships based on shared goals and visions for project success.
  • Advocate for continuous quality improvement as a core component of evaluation practices and contribute to the body of knowledge in the field.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A Master's degree in Health Services or Social Services, complemented by three years of relevant experience in a research or evaluation setting.
  • Proven experience in developing and conducting various types of evaluations across different environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of evaluation theories, principles, and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the capability to integrate data from diverse sources.
  • Familiarity with knowledge mobilization and evaluation initiatives at an institutional level.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools and report preparation.
  • Excellent facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A track record of applying project management principles to support successful project execution.
  • Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to convey findings to stakeholders from various backgrounds.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in statistical software such as SPSS, SAS, or STATA, and qualitative analysis tools like NVIVO.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Bilingualism in French and English or proficiency in an additional language is an asset.
