ROLE OVERVIEW
The Fort McKay First Nation is in search of a meticulous individual with strong customer service capabilities to take on the role of Accounts Receivable / Payable Clerk. Reporting directly to the Accounting Supervisor, the selected candidate will manage all aspects of accounts receivable and payable data entry, as well as billing and collection tasks. This full-time, permanent position is integral to our finance team and encompasses a variety of duties:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts billing, collection, and reporting functions
- Reconciles accounts within the general ledger
- Monitors and updates customer account information
- Maintains comprehensive accounts receivable customer records
- Supports month-end financial closing activities
- Prepares documentation for year-end audits
- Provides clerical support for procurement activities
- Handles bank deposits and invoice preparation
- Responds to customer inquiries effectively
- Performs additional tasks as required
- Completion of a certificate or diploma in office or business administration
- A minimum of two years' experience in accounting
- Familiarity with Sage accounting software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Sage
- Strong mathematical and numerical skills
- Knowledge of accounting principles and standards
- Experience working within Indigenous communities is advantageous
- Must pass a clear criminal record check
