To bolster the mechanical expertise within our building division, the Senior Project Leader will oversee institutional initiatives.

With extensive experience in delivering educational and healthcare projects, the Senior Project Leader will serve as a technical authority, coordinate the efforts of team members on projects under their guidance, and represent CIMA Canada Inc and the Building Division to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead various large-scale projects in building mechanics.
  • Serve as a technical authority in building mechanics and address complex engineering challenges.
  • Mentor and impart building engineering knowledge to junior staff.
  • Verify the accuracy of drawings and specifications for projects under their oversight.
  • Coordinate the activities of team members and various professionals, ensuring collaboration with other internal disciplines to deliver projects on schedule, based on priorities.
  • Maintain communication with clients to evaluate project progress, ensure their feedback is considered, and demonstrate proficiency in making presentations.
  • Work closely with clients to resolve any project-related issues, including technical and budgetary concerns.
  • Conduct contract oversight (including budgets) and prepare contract modifications.
  • Act as a project manager for projects under their supervision and monitor WIP/AR in collaboration with involved staff.

Human Resources Management:

  • Conduct recruitment, performance assessments, participate in the salary review process, and foster a healthy work environment that promotes performance.
  • Ensure the maintenance and development of team members' skills.
  • Evaluate and implement methods, procedures, and tools to enhance service quality, optimize work processes, and boost productivity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 20 years of professional experience.
  • A portfolio showcasing a variety of institutional building projects (primarily educational and healthcare facilities).
  • Experience in consulting engineering across private, public, or semi-public building sectors.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial principles and excellent budget management skills.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities.
  • Strong technical credibility and a willingness to share expertise with clients and team members.
