Reporting to the Director of Regulatory Compliance, this position is ideal for individuals with exceptional interpersonal, research, and analytical capabilities. Your Impact Starts Here: Collaborate with the Director of Regulatory Compliance to aid in the formulation and deployment of Regulatory Compliance and Data Privacy Frameworks, ensuring the organization meets all legal and regulatory obligations. Establish and uphold oversight mechanisms, including compliance evaluations, to monitor adherence to legal and regulatory standards, identifying and addressing business risks or areas for enhancement through corrective action strategies. Track regulatory developments as part of Home Hardware's Legal Watch initiative, evaluating and monitoring proposed controls and implementation strategies. Assist in the creation and periodic review of organizational policies, processes, procedures, and templates. Contribute to significant project and change initiatives by advocating for compliance and privacy-by-design, assessing regulatory and data privacy risks, and evaluating control measures through the approval of Regulatory and Privacy Impact Assessments. Supervise the inquiry into regulatory compliance and data privacy incidents and complaints, manage the incident response strategy, and lead post-incident reviews, including corrective action plans. Work collaboratively with stakeholders, providing expert guidance and recommendations on all regulatory and data privacy issues, while reinforcing team accountability for compliance obligations. Deliver training and awareness programs to team members and facilitate workshops to address business trends and assess emerging regulatory and data privacy risks. Ideal Candidate Profile: Post-secondary education with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Compliance Manager or similar capacity. Comprehensive understanding and practical application of Canadian privacy legislation, concepts, and best practices. A CIPP/C designation is preferred and/or a willingness to obtain it. Proven experience in initiating change initiatives with significant cross-functional impact. Familiarity with risk management methodologies, including assessments, monitoring, control design, and effectiveness evaluation. Self-driven with outstanding research, analytical, and reporting skills. Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities, capable of collaborating effectively with all organizational levels and leadership forums. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capacity to articulate recommendations, influence decisions, and clarify complex or ambiguous privacy requirements. Availability to work onsite three days a week to support our hybrid working model.
