Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our client's team in the Greater Montreal area. This is a permanent position that requires a strong background in accounting and finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the branch general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the branch.
  • Perform bank statement reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of branch budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
  • Oversee and process branch payroll.
  • Manage payroll requests and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform regular inventory reconciliations and adjustments.
  • Manage the requisition purchase order process.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to obtain favorable agreements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Acumatica an asset) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingualism (English and French).
